ON THE back of Our Little General’s success last season, Australian Pacing Gold stock are once again poised to dominate Saturday night’s Victoria Derby heats at Ballarat.

Prepared by Emma Stewart, Our Little General led throughout the Blue Riband in what was his second Group One triumph from 13 starts.

By the end of the term the son of Mach Three had added the Breeders’ Crown to his impressive tally.

As for this year’s crop, a dozen APG graduates will contest three qualifiers, with Concealment, Major Times, Yankee Roller, Best Of Beauty and Maraetai stablemates of Our Little General.

Fresh from capturing last weekend’s South Australia Derby, Yankee Roller is looking to extend his unbeaten record to six, while Maraetai is yet to experience a loss from three starts.

Sticking with undefeated youngsters, Lumineer boasts a perfect record from seven outings.

Lumineer, the reigning Australian Two-Year-Old of the Year, has been electrifying during his two starts this campaign, which has seen him listed as a short-priced favourite from barrier four.

APG Derby runners – Heat 1: Concealment, Higherthananeagle, War Dan. Heat 2: Major Times, Yankee Roller, Joe Nien, Tin Roof Raider, Best Of Beauty. Heat 3: No Alabi, Lumineer, Beltane, Maraetai.
