Many people are of the view that the Shepparton Harness Racing Club are leading the way in the state of Victoria for finding new ways to give their loyal supporters and participants more opportunities to get much greater returns out of the Harness Racing sport we love.

The full board of SHRC along with the Secretary/ Manger Mr Ian McDonald and treasurer Ms Sally Burgess are outstanding leaders and when the opportunity came for HRSA to join forces to create a fascinating and exciting new race series with riches of $72,000 on offer, we here in SA signed up instantly.

We refer to the request for this amazing partnership as a sliding doors moment, because we are of the view that if we continue to work closely with the exceptional leaders like the team at SHRC then both organisations can deliver real bonuses to the breeders and owners that get forgotten about far too often in this code. We are also of the view it’s just a start on what could grow into a much bigger and more rewarding outcome for all Standardbreds lovers in Australasia.

It’s with great pleasure that today we, HRSA and our proud partner, SHRC call for non-sale entries for the Harnessbred.com State of Origin series for Australian branded fillies born in the 16/17 breeding season.

Just 18 fillies entries will be accepted to join the 16 fillies that just went through the “The Allwood Sale” sale last weekend in Adelaide.

$10,000 heat will be conduct at both Shepparton and one (Location TBA ) in South Australia – dates to be announced.

Plus a $52,000 final  (Location TBA ) in South Australia – dates to be announced.

This race series is restricted to horses that are trained by Australian based trainers only.
